Our Aims
Climate change is causing havoc in the natural world and is affecting the poorest and most vulnerable in society. This opposes Hindu values such as Dharma (righteousness), Ahimsa (non-harm) and Karuna (compassion). Hindu Climate Action aims to:
1. Raise awareness about the ongoing climate emergency.
2. Highlight the importance of protecting the environment in the Hindu tradition.
3. Inspire the Hindu Community to go green.
4. Run campaigns which allow the Hindu community to respond to the climate emergency.
5. Join interfaith initiatives on climate activism.
Our Structure
Hindu Climate Action is a project of the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies. The OCHS is an academy for the study of Hindu cultures, societies, philosophies, religions and languages.
